High-resolution data collected by drones and shoe-box satellites herald a new era in environmental sensing and precision digital agriculture. Speaking at Science Unlimited 2019, Matthew McCabe described how this advanced aerial imaging, combined with machine learning, can help grow better quality crops and improve water management.

Matthew’s research focuses on issues related to water and food security, climate change impacts, precision agriculture, water resources monitoring and modeling, and the novel use of technologies for enhanced Earth system observation. He is Professor of Remote Sensing and Water Security at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.
